“Struggle can be our greatest call to courage, and rising strong the clearest path to a wholehearted life.”

- Brené Brown

When we choose to live a more daring life - showing up, being seen, and living bravely - we are guaranteed to struggle, to fall, and to get hurt.  It is unavoidable. It is part of our messy humanness. It is what it means to be alive. But when and how we rise from our falls is not guaranteed.  It is a choice. It is an act of bravery. It is resilience.

Rising Strong is a process in which we learn how to rise from our falls, overcome our mistakes and face our hurt in a way that brings more wisdom, self-compassion, authenticity, and resilience to our lives.  It is the path to a more wholehearted life.

The places we fall down become rich soil for our own personal growth, where we can cultivate vulnerability, authenticity, and self-compassion.  It is a redemptive story. It is a story in which our biggest struggles become our greatest triumphs.

In this work, we…

...clarify and connect to our core values (the very heart of who we are and what we do).

...explore the ways we experience pain, struggle and suffering in order to understand how interconnected our thoughts, behaviours and emotions are.

...cultivate curiosity about our emotions, how we get hooked by emotion, and all the ways we run from, hide from and push away our pain.

...challenges the stories we make up about our struggle, our fall, and challenge what’s truth and what’s self-protection.  In this we decide what needs to change to live more wholeheartedly.

...dive into hard emotions in a way that we can move through, process, integrate and rise from them.  And we all experience these emotions: vulnerability, shame, anxiety, grief and forgiveness, anxiety, criticism and broken trust.

Brene Brown writes: “Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, authenticity and accountability.” In short, a wholehearted life.

You might be in a season of marriage, divorce, becoming a parent, recovery, moving, an empty nest, retiring, experiencing loss or trauma, working in a soul sucking job or just feeling stuck in life.

Living a wholehearted life in your context may sound like a nice idea, but how do you get there?  Shame and fear, in the guise of voices that tell us we’re not enough, that criticize and compare, are what stand in the way.

And what does vulnerability really look like? How do we deal with those voices that would have us convinced that we’re not worthy as we are, and so we must continue pleasing, performing and perfecting?

This is what you’ll learn in The Daring Way workshop.

"Excellent. It has helped me integrate Brene's work in deeper ways. It's a journey toward finding and expressing my authentic voice."

"I was able to see for the first time the huge role shame has played in my life and to learn some strategies to deal with it and not be paralyzed by it. Really eye opening for me."
